If you're considering an exercise physiology consultation, you're taking a proactive step towards improving your health and fitness. Our consultations are designed to assess your current physical condition, understand your health goals, and tailor a personalised exercise program to meet your needs. Here's what you can expect from your consultation:
1. Comprehensive Assessment
Our consultations begin with a thorough assessment of your health history, current fitness level, and any existing medical conditions. We'll discuss your lifestyle, exercise habits, and any specific goals you have in mind. This information helps us understand your unique needs and develop a customised plan that works for you.
2. Physical Evaluation
During the consultation, we'll conduct a physical evaluation to determine your baseline abilities. This may include assessing your range of movement, strength, cardiovascular fitness, and any areas of concern. This may involve simple exercises, mobility tests, and strength assessments to gather baseline data. Understanding your physical capabilities helps us design safe and effective exercise programs.
3. Goal Setting
We'll work together to establish realistic and achievable goals based on your health status and aspirations. Whether you're aiming to manage a chronic condition, improve strength, lose weight, or enhance athletic performance, we'll outline clear objectives and timelines to track your progress.
4. Personalised Exercise Program
Using the information gathered from the assessment, we'll create a personalized exercise program tailored to your needs and preferences. This may include a combination of rehabilitation exercises, functional movements, cardiovascular training, strength exercises, balance and mobility routines. We'll ensure that the program is safe, effective, and enjoyable, making it easier for you to stick with it long-term.
5. Ongoing Support and Monitoring
Your journey doesn't end after the consultation. We provide ongoing support and monitoring to help you stay on track and achieve your goals. We'll schedule regular follow-up appointments to assess your progress, make adjustments to your program as needed, and provide guidance and motivation along the way. Or if you want to join one of our small group classes or have a regular one on one sessions with our exercise physiologists, we can do that too. We are here to work with you to achieve your goals.
