Michael is a Senior Physiotherapist and Director of Education at ATUNE Health Centres in the area of Sports & Musculoskeletal Injuries, Movement Dysfunctions, and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation.

Who does he treat?

Graduating in 2010, Michael has nearly 15 years of experience in treating injuries and conditions from all regions of the body, with a special interest in sporting injuries of the lower limb ie. foot, ankle, knees, and hips.

He has worked with elite sporting teams for years, including Newcastle Jets FC, Fremantle Dockers FC, Olympians, Hunter Academy of Sport, Edgeworth Eagles, Newcastle NSW Country Cricket Representative Program, and consultant Physio for Southern Beaches Rugby Union.

He most enjoys working with athletic populations and motivated young adults with a long-term view to optimise their health and fitness.

He has also been active in research in recent years, contributing as a co-author to multiple studies into providing high quality care to patients. These have been published in journals such as the British Medical Journal Open, which is widely accepted as one of the more reputable publications worldwide.

What ages does Michael work with?

Michael treats patients from the age of 10 upwards (referrals for sporting injuries under 10 accepted).

What services does Michael provide?

He provides a detailed and thorough clinical assessment to properly diagnose the injury first and do not offer “cookie-cutter” treatment programs, nor promise quick fixes as every injury and person is unique with different requirements, especially in cases of recurrent or complex injuries.

As a Physio, Michael is able to offer a range of treatment options depending on what will be most effective for your specific condition, including but not limited to Exercise Prescription and Programming, Manual therapy, Dry Needling, Strapping and Soft Tissue Massage.

He works closely with a number of Specialists, Doctors, Podiatrists, Osteopaths, Remedial Massage Therapists, Exercise Physiologists, and S&C Coaches, which allows for a team-based approach when appropriate, to ensure you receive optimal and individualised care.

About Michael:

Outside of work, Michael continues to play cricket in the Newcastle District Cricket Association during the summer and values his time long-distance running and staying fit in the gym. He is most relaxed spending time with his family in the outdoors, reading, learning, and loves traveling and great food.
