Lizz completed her bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics with Honours at the University of Newcastle and is a member of Dietitian’s Australia, the accrediting board for dietitians in this country.
Lizz’s non-discriminative and gentle nature has her passionate about helping clients of all ages, from all backgrounds. Lizz is skilled in treating a variety of medical conditions with client-led nutritional therapies. Lizz’s nursing background gives further insight to client care. She works collaboratively with her client to help them understand and improve their health status. She helps her client understand the connection between the medical condition and nutritional needs, so her client knows why the changes are important. Using scientific evidence based knowledge Lizz works in partnership with her clients to create individualised goals and personalised approaches that are realistic and achievable. This allows the client to progress within their abilities, which forms a more successful long-term outcome. Lizz is skilled in assisting all medical conditions at all ages.
Lizz assists in the treatment of many medical conditions such as:
- Underweight / overweight / uncomfortable in your body / eating disorders
- High blood sugar / insulin resistance / pre-diabetes / diabetes (T1,T2, gestational)
- High cholesterol / high blood pressure / heart disease
- Gut issues, swallow, reflux, indigestion, bloating, pain, constipation, diarrhoea, etc
- IBS / IBD/ diverticular disease / food allergies and intolerances / coeliac disease
- Fatty liver disease / kidney disease / cancer / bariatric care / cystic fibrosis
- Pregnancy / paediatric / menopause / frailty
And many more. I can refer you on to other professionals for a comprehensive care plan if needed.
You can meet Lizz with or without a referral. A referral gives access to government benefits, such as Medicare refunds, EPC/TCA discounts, the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) or the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA).
In the initial meeting Lizz will ask a lot of questions about your lifestyle, health status, personal beliefs, and feelings. With a holistic view, she is better able to individualise your visits, and support you through your journey.
Follow up appointments are important. In the follow-up Lizz looks at your successes and barriers which helps her to further individualise your plan for better physical and mental well-being. You will work together on realistic approaches that are achievable for you.
Lizz can refer you on to other professionals for a comprehensive care plan if needed.
Away from work Lizz loves to be with her husband, their three children & partners and their eight granddaughters. Lizz has a keen interest in art and loves to restore and repurpose antique furniture.
