Nathan Fernance – Physiotherapist

BPhty(Hons) APAM

Early Years

Nathan grew up on the far north coast of New South Wales before moving down to the Hunter to commence his studies in Physiotherapy.  Growing up it was always clear that sport and fitness were great passions as he represented the region in a range of sports from cricket and soccer to touch football. This passion continued into his studies at the University of Newcastle, whilst also working as a Sports Trainer for the Stockton Sharks rugby league club.

Post-University

Upon graduating with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Hons) in 2015, Nathan commenced his professional career in private practice where he completed a new graduate programme that equipped him predominantly in the fields of musculoskeletal, sports and orthopaedic rehabilitation. This experience helped to combine his love for sport and movement with educating individuals to help restore pain-free function.

Sports Specific Rehabilitation

In addition to his private practice experience Nathan has also provided services to patients in both Surgical and Rehabilitation settings at Maitland Private Hospital. He worked with some of the best Orthopaedic Surgeons, Sports Physicians and researchers in the region and helped him grow a love for evidence-based post-surgical and sport specific rehabilitation.

Nathan has worked alongside some elite athletic populations as a Physiotherapist for Swansea Senior Football Club, Hockey NSW and, early in 2018, had the great privilege to be apart of the Athletic Medical Team at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
