Gina McGrath - ATUNE Health Centres - Psychologist

Gina McGrath obtained her psychology degree at the University of Newcastle and has been working within the field of psychology for over 10 years. Gina is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia as well as being an associate member of the AHPRA. She is accredited to provide counselling under the Workers Compensation System, Medicare Better Outcomes for Mental Health and Medicare Pregnancy Support Schemes. As part of her therapy, Gina uses treatment approaches including cognitive behaviour therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and mindfulness.

In her years as a practising psychologist, Gina has worked with adults and adolescents focusing in areas of anxiety, depression, stress, trauma and adjustment disorders. Gina is passionate about promoting the psychological health of the family unit. This includes couples therapy, parenting skills/strategies, resilience and self-esteem and conflict resolution and communication skills. She has trained specifically in pregnancy support counselling to provide much-needed support to women who are having difficulties with pregnancy and/or motherhood or for those who have tragically lost a pregnancy or child.

Outside of work Gina’s hierarchy of needs include being with her beautiful family, catching up with good friends, exercise, a quality cup of coffee and a glass of good red wine.
