Nathan Fernance – Physiotherapist
Nathan grew up on the far north coast of New South Wales before moving down to the Hunter to commence his studies in Physiotherapy. Growing up it was always clear that sport and fitness were great passions as he represented the region in a range of sports from cricket and soccer to touch football. This passion continued into his studies at the University of Newcastle, whilst also working as a Sports Trainer for the Stockton Sharks rugby league club.
Upon graduating with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Hons) in 2015, Nathan commenced his professional career in private practice where he completed a new graduate program that equipped him predominantly in the fields of musculoskeletal, sports and orthopedic rehabilitation. This experience helped to combine his love for sport and movement with educating individuals to help restore pain-free function.
In addition to his private practice experience Nathan has also provided services to patients in both Surgical and Rehabilitation settings at Maitland Private Hospital. He worked with some of the best Orthopedic Surgeons in the region which helped him grow a love for post-surgical rehabilitation.
Nathan enjoys learning and growing as a clinician in order to best help and serve his clients. Despite his short career he has already undertaken multiple post-graduate training sessions including:
- NSW Workers Compensation Allied Health Practitioner
- Global Education for Manual Therapists Level 1 Dry Needling for Neuromuscular Dysfunction and Sports Injuries
- London Academy of Sports and Health Sciences Certificate in Musculoskeletal Therapy
- Currently completing FIFA Diploma of Football Medicine
Outside of the clinic Nathan loves all things sport – both playing and watching it. He and his wife frequently venture back to her homeland in the USA where they love to support their favorite ice hockey team. Nathan is also a recreational scuba diver.
