James is the Principal Physiotherapist at ATUNE Health Centres founding the department in 2011. James’s passion is to provide individualized patient care and optimize each person’s rehabilitative potential.

James' Experince:

James has 25 years clinical experience treating a wide variety of musculoskeletal problems. His knowledge of pathophysiology, manual therapy and advanced skills in the area of motor control retraining provides the expertise to maximize his client outcomes.

What does James treat?

James treats a broad spectrum of clientele, but his special interests involve the assessment and management of shoulder and hip pathologies including:

- Rotator cuff tear and impingement syndromes

- Shoulder dislocation/instability

- AC joint dysfunction

- Osteoarthritis of the shoulder and hip

- Scapular/glenohumeral and lumbopelvic muscle imbalance

James works closely with some of the key surgeons in the area to assist in the pre and post-surgical management of their cases.

What should you expect from James?

On your initial session you should expect a 1hour consult incorporating a detailed history, objective examination and an individualized treatment strategy tailored to your functional, vocational and sporting needs.

As a Physio, James is able to offer a wide range of treatment options depending on what would be most effective for your specific condition including but not limited to Exercise Prescription, Motor control retraining, Manual therapy, Strapping, Orthopedic casting and Soft Tissue Massage.

James has long standing relationships with Specialists, Doctors, Podiatrists, Osteopaths, Remedial Massage Therapists, Exercise Physiologists, Dietitians and Naturopaths which means he can offer a team-based approach when appropriate ensuring you receive the best possible care and results.

Furthering his knowledge:

Following completion of his Bachelor Applied Science in Physiotherapy (Sydney University) 1996 James has completed post graduate certificates in:

- Orthopaedic Manual Therapy (Manual Concepts) 2007

- Kinetic Control from Keele University United Kingdom 2009.

Further to his clinical practice James has been actively involved since 2003 in the clinical training of new physiotherapy graduates both in the private and public sector.

Personal life:

Outside of work James enjoys time with his family and is an avid hiker and golfer. James has a strong sporting background in the fields of tennis, cricket and soccer.
